Our Focus Areas
Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) globally is a strategic framework that uses communication to shift knowledge, attitudes, social norms, and behaviors. Moving beyond simple message delivery, global SBCC addresses structural, cultural, and environmental power dynamics to tackle complex challenges in public health. We promote healthy behaviors and timely care-seeking through evidence-based messaging, community dialogues, radio programs, and youth engagement—especially in hard-to-reach communities.
Malaria remains a primary public health challenge in Liberia, putting the entire population of over 5.6 million people at risk. The country registers roughly 1 million to 1.9 million malaria cases annually, with thousands of estimated deaths. Meanwhile, Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) like lymphatic filariasis and schistosomiasis affect millions across multiple endemic counties. RHR works with youth networks and community stakeholders to drive malaria & NTDs elimination initiatives and support local efforts to reduce transmission—driving Liberia closer to zero malaria cases by 2030.
As a member of the World Patients Alliance, Remote Health Reach (RHR) promotes patient rights, dignity, and safety within communities and health systems. We work to ensure that patients are informed, respected, and able to speak up about their healthcare experiences.
Through awareness-raising, community engagement, and support for feedback and grievance mechanisms, we help strengthen accountability and trust between patients, communities, and health providers—especially in underserved settings. Our advocacy efforts contribute to more people-centered, transparent, and responsive healthcare systems.
We support improved maternal, newborn, and child health outcomes by promoting health education, early care-seeking, and community engagement. Our work focuses on empowering women, families, and caregivers with information and support to access existing maternal and child health services.
